When presented with the award, Toriyama was heard to say, "Eh, just throw it on the pile."

Just like how Tesamu Ozuka is The God of Manga, Akira Toriyama is one of his Angels, The Angel of Shonen Manga.

Europeans winning European Awards......................
(Toriyama's more Lifetime Achievement) Anyways, in other news: ANGOULEME, France — Japanese Manga legend Leiji Matsumoto celebrated 60 years in the business at France’s international cartoon festival, and confessed that the experience left him feeling like a time traveller “with the strange sensation of finding myself in one of my stories.” The author of numerous cult works such as “Captain Albator” and “Galaxy Express 999”, the slender, white haired 75-year-old, sporting a goatee, cap and huge glasses, was on Friday feted at the festival in southwestern Angouleme. |

Actually, there's a controversy regarding Toriyama not getting the Grand Prix.

Sarcasm aside, France, and Europe in general, have been into anime longer than America and it's more represented in their media culture, so it's actually not really surprising if anime gets recognized there. |

And Eiichiro Oda, together with Yoshihiro Togashi, are on their way to become the Archangels of the Shounen Manga. |
