Hey, let's exploit a small niche group of fans and make them look completely weird and quirky to the outside world, while trying to convince the masses that they're people too, just like us!
*Sigh* I hate reality TV. It should be smitten.

Oh boy here we go. This may not end well. All reality TV shows are train wrecks, I doubt that this one will be an exception.

This. I hope all they get are a bunch of applications from "normal" people who just happen to like geeky things. Yay exploiting socially awkward people who won't know they're being exploited. Although I imagine a lot of hardcore nerds might be too shy to apply. I smll train wreck too :/

They're probably hoping to find a bunch of smelly otaku.
But nobody smells worse than those douchebags from Jersey Shore! Booya!

It's like America's Greatest Otaku all over again.
Let's hope there's an age requirement of 21 and older. That way they can filter out the majority of the weeaboos.

I can't help but think that this will end up as a drunker, but somehow less shameful version of America's Greatest Otaku.

Should all these criteria be jointly necessary, especially the lattermost, one expects that those trained in other disciplines will have cause to feel misrepresented.

This can only go horribly, horribly wrong.
Though maybe it will inspire Otaku not to end up acting like the neckbeards that they will inevitably get

Right....
Why not exploit anime fans for comedic purposes, thereby, perpetuating and reinforcing any negative stereotypes?
This is getting old.

In Taiwan, there was a anime/manga fan who fought valiantly to bring a positive image in a similar reality show. The result? All his efforts were cut from the final release.

Proof that there is no God. If He existed, He would stop crap like this from ever getting made.

This is something I could see being cute, smart, and funny. Ugh, but from the people who brought us Jersey Shore. I'm sure it will be more exploitative crap.

Same here, I can't see this ending well. For the participants and the American view of pop culture fanatics, anyways.
(Although, I would love to be proven wrong...doubt it'll happen though.)
