With Trigun just about to begin its Adult Swim run, I wanted to know if anyone has heard anything about plans to animate the Trigun Maximum manga. It's the continuation of the story, but that's all I know about it since I don't have access to it and can't read Japanese!

If you are impatient, cheap, or just haven't seen Trigun yet, most of the episodes can be found on [EDIT - No filesharing. Thanks. -C]. It's a great series with comedy, character development, and some cool animation.

I've heard lots of rumors that a project will be in the works, but those are just rumors. I hear that the comics are headed to the west, though, so you can probably read it all eventually. Check http://www.trigunner.giborama.com for a whole whack of info on Trigun news.

there's a group doing translated scans of them on the net, but their site went down, so haven't seen them since then.

I've seen all of the trigun anime eps...and from what I've read so far in Trigun Maximum is part of the anime already...so in a nut shell the anime has the regular trigun and trigun maximum manga.
pretty sure thats it, so sue me if im wrong.

That's basicly how I understand it. I'm certainly not an expert, but there are several Maximum characters that appear in the anime already like Descartes (the guy from the first episode with the mohawk and bionic arm), Leonof The Puppetmaster (one of the Gung Ho Guns). On the other hand there are extra characters that don't appear in either manga such as the anime version of Chapel. Also I'm pretty sure for the most part the anime has a different story path than either manga. Of course with so much apparent freedom in the story they could still do a sequal compiling the series, just keep in mind that in Maximum they're still fighting Knives, but anyone who has seen the anime knows... well, you'll just have to watch to find out. Wink
