Rest in Peace.

Manga authors are sometimes like this. They get stressed so much that they try to "escape". Bad times. But I never condone suicide. It's a horrible and irresponsible way to go.

Well, that sucks, a lot :-(

I discovered Mr.Aoyama`s mangas last year during a trip in Japan and enjoyed China Girl and Yoiko no Mokushiroku since then a lot. I even started to write a review of the latter manga for my german blog.
Aoyama`s artwork is polished and the stories are interesting, he`s one of the seinen manga autors I became to appreciate the most. It`s really a shame someone so young (he`s younger than me) passes away. I whish I had left a message of appreciation for his stories on a personal website.

anyways there is something wrong in his profile
Chronology:
(2001-10-09) Commited suicide in his bathroom by hanging.

They tell us … that suicide is wrong; when is it quite obvious that there is nothing in the world to which every man has a more unassailable title than to his own life and person. –Arthur Schopenhauer

Good-night, sweet prince; And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.

Ya know, when there's a suggestive twitter account, wouldn't there be at least some people who'd report it?

My God, that's terrible. Even if he took his own life, 32 is way too young to die. If wasn't able to find any peace in this world may he find it in the next.

Irresponsible? I suspect depression had something to do with it. Its totally irresponsible to fall victim to mental disorders right?!

Unfortunately, depression frequently goes hand-in-hand with high levels of creativity, it seems. So sad to see anyone so young die, but especially by their own hand.

Welll, depression is most likely the reasoning. But there are OTHER ways to relieve it. It's just stupid to go kill yourself before talking about it to ANYBODY. Hell, he could've gone on hiatus. That would've been a WAY better answer.

if depression is the reason at all ...you don't know whether he didn't talk to anybody ... and nor is Japan a very "developed country" in that aspect (i.e. knowledge and treatment and tolerance of said illness)
