Ah, to be young again and live in a town not located in West TX.... If I lived in that city, I would ask to sit in on the classes. Or I could weasel my way in as an anime expert ::hee hee:: and then just sit down and draw. I know in Japan they are now offering degrees in anime and gaming... so, if I have kids, they might be able to get those degrees when they are 30 Wink

Take a look at your university's catalog - they very well might. Some recent anime/manga classes:

<A href="http://classes.csumb.edu/JAPN/JAPN308-01/world/index.html">Currents in Japanese Popular Culture</A> - CSU Monterey Bay
<A href="http://web.pdx.edu/~levia/hstxxxtop.html">Japanese Animation and Manga</A> - Portland State University
<A href="http://www.corneredangel.com/amwess/eas294asyllabus03.pdf">Explorations of Japanese Animation</A> (Vanderbilt University)

In addition, most "Japanese popular culture" or "Japanese film" classes nowadays will have at least a unit, if not more, on anime/manga.
