This is incorrect in that it implies that TP did not publish the 5th novel. The volume TP released in Feb. was a combined release of the 4th and 5th Japanese novels which form two halves of a single arc in the series. As for them releasing anything after that, well, it wasn't gonna happen anyways. |

Yay! More cool stuff that we'll never see in North America...
It's this sort of thing that keeps tempting me to actually take the time to learn to read Japanese. Oh well. At least we actually got the main novels up through FMP: TSR before Tokyopop went bust. |

Too funny: my first thoughts on this were, "wow, it's going to be set 10 years in the future!" And then I remembered the original novel was published and set in 1998 so these new stories will be set around 2009/2010ish. (Or the FMP alternate universe equivalent.)
spoiler[So Sousuke, Kaname, and Tessa will be 27 years old; I really hope it's not going to be a "special kid in danger" type of story centered around a Kaname x Sousuke child. And hopefully Leonard will stay dead and not come back in this new novel series, but you never know in fiction nowadays.] 
I'm just bummed about this TokyoPop nonsense. I was so excited because the 7th novel, Continuing On My Own, was the most exciting and emotionally draining manga/Japanese light novel I have yet read. I've bought all the legally published FMP novels to support the artists and in the hope of getting Continuing On My Own legitimately. Sucks. |

After that one I almost got a heart attack. And then "Spinoff Novel"... 
I'll certainly read FMP novels but AFTER last FMP series. |

Shikidouji has posted the first pic and I'm SO EXCITED!! Looks like Sousuke and Kaname's son and probably Kurz and Mao's daughter, judging by their appearances. It says "OVER 10 years" so I'm fairly certain it's them. If that's a Jindai uniform on the boy there, it's got 3 stripes, meaning he's a senior in high school.

Exactly My thoughts. That girl looks very much like the offspring of Kurz and Mao, while the boy has its similaritys with Sousuke ans Kaname. This is probably just a coincidence but i want to believe that for now

Wasn't Fumoffu considered a second season and The Second Raid was the actual 3rd season? If so, then I'm waiting for season 4. 
But never mind a "spinoff", I would like the first 3 light novels in English... |
