Atlus Releases New Combo Trailer for The King of Fighters XIII, Reveals Timing and Price of First DLC Character

IRVINE, CALIFORNIA -- NOVEMBER 15, 2011 -- ATLUS today released a new "Console Combo Showcase" trailer for THE KING OF FIGHTERS XIII, the latest entry in the legendary fighting franchise, for PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system (PS3™) and Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. The new video focuses its attention on the variety of lethal combos possible for 21 of the 30+ playable characters and their arsenals of moves. Thanks to beautifully animated high-definition sprites, players can feel the full jarring impact of each successive hit. Providing plenty of incentive for players to learn and master their favorite characters, the rewarding, addicting combinations in KOF XIII help make every fight exciting.
Also today, ATLUS reiterated its long-term commitment to KOF XIII by revealing an assortment of downloadable content that will be made available shortly following the game's late November launch. The most prominent of the DLC is the fan favorite "Iori with the Power of Flames" character from the franchise's popular '98 iteration, scheduled to release on 12/7 for 400 MS Points/$4.99. Other planned DLC includes a trio of system themes (two of which will be made available at launch), a means to immediately unlock portions of game content, and more. Further details regarding pricing and timing would be made available at a later date.
At participating retailers while supplies last, fans who reserve KOF XIII will receive THE KING OF SOUNDTRACKS '94-XIII, a 4-CD soundtrack compilation with music spanning over the 17-year history of the famed series, certain to be one of the best collectible extras in franchise history.
