The Vampire Series That Claimed Six #1 New York Times Bestseller Slots in Just over a Single Year is Going Manga
Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark-Hunter novels have won over the world and propelled her to the tops of bestseller lists in multiple countries. Now St. Martin's Press, in conjunction with the legendary comic book and graphic novel publisher Dabel Brothers, is bringing her blockbuster novels to a whole new audience.
The first issue, THE DARK-HUNTERS, hits the shelves on April 28th. A longtime manga, anime and comic fan, Kenyon is working with veteran graphic novel writer Joshua Hale Fialkov (of Afro Samurai fame) to carefully sculpt her vision of the Dark-Hunter manga. Also on board is veteran artist Claudia Campos, who is well known for her work with Tokyopop. With sharp dialogue and intelligently idiosyncratic characters, Kenyon's unique style shines through as this shonen manga targets readers fourteen and older.
"Sherrilyn Kenyon's rise to the top of the bestseller lists has been extraordinary. And that is due to the imaginative and unique world she has created in her Dark Hunter novels," says Matthew Shear, Senior VP and Publisher of St. Martin's Paperbacks & Reference Group. "Now, new fans will get an opportunity to see these books come to visual life through our publication of manga.”
