Dragon Ball Z TCG Expansion set to release
October 10, 2005 (Dallas, TX)- Score Entertainment, a leading manufacturer of trading card games and collectible cards, announces the first expansion of Dragon Ball Z®, Showdown, to release November 23, 2005.
The expansion centers on the uncut episodes 32-66 of the Dragon Ball Z series and includes Saiyan and Frieza saga, which features the end of Goku's fight with Vegeta and the first half of their trip to Namek.
Players can choose a fighting style that best suits their personality and for the first time play as Launch, who has her own personality card.
The game incorporates key pieces of the storyline with the introduction of new villains, Zarbon, Dodoria, and Frieza. Even victory conditions such as Dragon Ball and Survival, which allow players to work toward collecting all seven Dragon Balls while fighting like characters, emulate the television program.
“Showdown gives all Dragon Ball Z fans what they are looking for in expanding the Dragon Ball Z TCG. Look for this set to closely tie in plot points from the show as well as adding more depth to the TCG,” said Aik Tongtharadol, the Dragon Ball Z designer and first Dragon Ball Z champion.
Showdown features a 121 card core set, including 46 Commons, 39 Uncommons and 36 Rares with a suggested retail price of $3.29 per pack.
The 2006 competitive tournament schedule for Dragon Ball Z will be announced in the coming months. Find the schedule along with card previews and the Dragon Ball Z card library online at www.DragonBallZTCG.com.
DBZ airs primetime on Cartoon Network Monday through Thursday evening at 10:30 pm EST and consistently ranks as one of the Top 10 shows for boys 9-14!
