Based on Torajiro Kishi's manga of the same name and originally aired as part of the Japanese late-night television program “Wonderful,” Colorful! was directed by Ryutaro Nakamura (Sakura Wars, Kino's Journey, Serial Experiments Lain) and features the animation work of Triangle Staff (Sakura Wars, Catnapped!, Macross Plus).
