Anime Expo Hosts Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Novel Author Fujino Ōmori

BookWalker announced on Friday that Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? light novel series author Fujino Ōmori will attend Los Angeles anime convention Anime Expo as its special guest. He will participate in a panel and autograph sessions.
The convention appearance will be Ōmori's first in North America. In addition to hosting Ōmori, BookWalker will hold a stamp rally, and participants who fill their card will receive an exclusive character pin.
Ōmori debuted Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? with Suzuhito Yasuda's illustrations in 2013. SB Creative released the 12th compiled book volume on Thursday, and the series has more than 8 million copies in print worldwide. Yen Press began publishing the original novel series in North America in 2014. The company also licensed the Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? On the Side: Sword Oratoria spinoff light novel series and Kunieda's manga adaptation of the original light novel series. Sword Oratoria inspired its own manga adaptation on Square Enix's web magazine Gangan Online.
J.C. Staff adapted the light novel series into a television anime in 2015. Sentai Filmworks licensed the series for North America, and Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan. The novels also received an original video anime (OVA) adaptation in December.
The television anime adaptation of the Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? On the Side: Sword Oratoria spinoff novel premiered in April. Sentai Filmworks licensed the series and is streaming the anime on Amazon's Anime Strike streaming service as it airs in Japan.
This year's Anime Expo convention will run from July 1 to July 4 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. In addition, the convention will formally include a preview night a day before on June 30.
Other guests include Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma manga co-creator Yūto Tsukuda, as well as Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi and designer and artist Kimihiko Fujisaka. The Super Dimension Fortress Macross singer and voice actress Mari Iijima will return to the convention this year. Akira Himekawa, the manga creator duo known for their manga adaptations of Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda games, is also attending the convention. Musicians ☆Taku Takahashi, Teddyloid, and Pa’s Lam System will perform at the convention's Neon District concert this year. Ali Project, Minori Chihara, GARNiDELiA, Konomi Suzuki, angela, Mashiro Ayano, Wake Up, Girls!, Walküre's Minori Suzuki and JUNNA, Love Live! Sunshine!!'s Aquors, and The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls will also perform at Anisong World Matsuri.
The event will host the U.S. Preliminary for the World Cosplay Summit (WCS) during the masquerade at on July 2.
