Anime Expo 2017 to Host Macross Singer Mari Iijima

Los Angeles convention Anime Expo announced on Wednesday that the convention will host singer and voice actress Mari Iijima as a guest. She last attended the convention in 1999 where she debuted her album No Limit.
Iijima is perhaps best known as the voice of Lynn Minmay, the pivotal idol singer in The Super Dimension Fortress Macross television anime, The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love? film, and The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Flash Back 2012 original video anime. She wrote her 1983 debut album Rosé herself, and Ryuichi Sakamoto produced the album. Since then, she has released 24 studio albums. Her latest album, Awakening, shipped in September.
This year's Anime Expo convention will run from July 1 to July 4 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. In addition, the convention will formally include a preview night a day before on June 30. Akira Himekawa, the manga creator duo known for their manga adaptations of Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda games, is also attending the convention.
