Capeta Creator Masahito Soda Starts New Manga in Big Comic Spirits
posted on by Sarah Nelkin
This year's 24th issue of Shogakukan's Big Comic Spirits magazine is announcing on Monday that Capeta manga creator Masahito Soda will begin a new manga serialization in the magazine's next issue, which is scheduled to be released on May 19.
The story of the new series, titled Temprism, revolves around Tsunashi, the child of royalty who was left behind in the lost kingdom, “Karan.” He is expected by those around him to awaken his great powers that sleep within him in order to revive the kingdom, but rather than fighting, Tsunashi enjoys playing in the world of books. However, he must become serious soon, as a new army is threatening to invade Karan.
Soda launched his Capeta series in 2003, and he ended it last year. The manga won the Kodansha Manga Award in the Best Shōnen Manga category in 2005. The series inspired a 52-episode television anime series in 2005-2006 from Studio Comet.
Update: Title added. Thanks, Liam.
