5 new series to launch in Kodansha's Evening magazine in coming months

The ninth issue of Kodansha's Evening magazine is announcing on Tuesday that the magazine will launch five new series in the next three months. The magazine will launch Deathtopia by Cage of Eden's Yoshinobu Yamada and Oyakokko by Sayonara Tamachan's Kazuyoshi Takeda in this year's 10th issue shipping on April 22.

The tagline of Deathtopia is, "Destroy evil with that 'power!'" The "ultimate super-powered suspense" story follows a college student who is gravely injured in both eyes by an accident one day. The resulting surgery was a success, but he gains extrasensory perception. A mysterious woman appears, and the boy's life changes overnight.

Oyakokko centers around the relationship between a single dad and his child.

Additionally, author Yūji Moritaka (Gurazeni) and artist Yuichi Kinoshita (Pero Pero Pet, Kurono Royale Ohayo) will launch the "slightly ecchi short comedy" manga Yukemuri Kyūji (Steam Baseball) in the 11th issue on May 13. The story follows a high school baseball player in a hot spring town.

Samurai Deeper Kyo and Code:Breaker author Akimine Kamijyō will also launch a new series in the magazine's 12th issue on May 27, but a preview chapter will appear in the 11th issue. The manga will mark the first time Kamijyo is drawing for a seinen magazine.

Lastly, Sekitō Elegy and Kecchin author Takashi Kira will launch the "Girl x Motorbike x Love" manga Deko Boko in the 14th issue on June 24.

Yamada ended his Cage of Eden manga in January 2013. Kodansha Comics is releasing the manga in North America.

Kamijyo ended Code:Breaker last July. Del Rey Manga published two volumes of the manga in North America. An anime adaptation of the manga aired in 2012, and Funimation streamed the anime as it aired in Japan.
