PS Vita remake of Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2 ships in Japan on March 20

Compile Heart began streaming the first promotional video for Chō Jijigen Game Neptune Re;Birth 2 Sisters Generation (Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2 Sisters Generation), the PlayStation Vita remake of the Chōjigen Game Neptune mk2 (Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2) PS3 game, on Wednesday. The video introduces Purple Sister/Nepgear (Yui Horie), Uni/Black Sister (Eri Kitamura), Ram/White Sister (Kaori Ishihara), Rom/White Sister (Yui Ogura), and other main characters and cast members. The video also presents an overview of the battle system, dungeons, the world map, the disc system, and the remake system.

The game will ship in Japan on March 20. The limited edition release will include an "Imōto to Ofuton no naka de Icha Icha Shichau" (Flirting with My Little Sister in the Futon) CD, a "Chōjigen Game Neptune Hello New World Extra Edition" manga, and a Chōjigen Game Neptune High School novel. Those who pre-order the game will get a situation CD. The limited edition will retail for 7,800 yen (about US$76), the standard edition will retail for 5,800 yen (US$56), and the download edition will retail for 5,047 yen (US$49).

Compile Heart released a PS Vita remake of its 2010 Hyperdimension Neptunia PlayStation 3 video game last October titled Chōjigen Game Neptune Re;Birth 1. The game features the "unit turn" battle system. In battle, players can move characters around the battlefield during a turn. Depending on weapons and skills, attack range will vary making a character's position important for battle success.

NIS America released the Hyperdimension Neptunia and Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2 games in North America, and it released Kami Jigen Game Neptune V as Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory in March. The first game anthropomorphizes the game console wars as female role-playing game characters.

The Hyperdimension Neptunia television anime premiered in Japan on July 12 as an adaptation of the Hyperdimension Neptunia game series. Funimation streamed the series as it aired.
