posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Alternate character color options also previewed

Sega and ASCII Media Works' crossover fighting game Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax will have a Sonic the Hedgehog stage. The stage was revealed in preview images for the game's alternate character colors.

The game includes characters Asuna and Leafa (Sword Art Online), Shana and Wilhelmina (Shakugan no Shana), Mikoto Misaka and Tōma Kamijō (A Certain Magical Index), Kirino Kōsaka and Kuroneko (Oreimo), Shizuo and Celty (Durarara!!), Kuroyukihime and Haruyuki (Accel World), Holo (Spice and Wolf), Boogiepop (Boogiepop Phantom), and Sadao Maō (The Devil Is a Part-Timer!). Akira of the Virtua Fighter fighting game will appear as a boss.

Characters will have at least four color variations:

Asuna

Shana

Kirino Kōsaka

Kuroyukihime

Shizuo

Misaka Mikoto

Publisher ASCII Media Works and game developer Sega announced Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax, their crossover 2D fighting game, in September at the Tokyo Game Show 2013 event. The game is the fourth collaboration between ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Bunko imprint and Sega, and it marks Dengeki Bunko's 20th anniversary.

The title features characters from the Dengeki Bunko light novel imprint. The game will use a standard eight-way joystick and four buttons — A (weak attack), B (medium attack), C (strong attack), and D (support, to summon support characters). Players can also dash, back dash, and two levels of jump. A+B or A + B + down will unleash special Impact Skill attacks. Pressing A + B+ C simultaneously will expend one BLAST icon for various BLAST attacks.

The game is slated for Japanese arcades next spring.
