MVM confirmed on twitter that it will release Linebarrels of Iron on DVD on October 14 (£29.99), followed by the first series of Patlabor OAVs on Blu-ray and DVD on November 18 (£18.74 for both the Blu-ray and DVD editions).
Linebarrels of Iron is a mecha TV series broadcast in 2008. Kōichi Hayase, a weakling and an average student, is killed by a falling mecha called Linebarrel, but revived by an alien woman, Emi. Kōichi ends up the pilot of Linebarrel, which was designed to save humanity — but this isn't a priority for Kōichi.
Released in 1988-9, the first Patlabor OAV series was the first anime version of the Patlabor franchise, which also spawned a TV series and three feature films. Patlabor is sent in a Japan which uses giant robots called "Labors," useful in heavy industry. However, this gives rise to "Labor crimes," resulting in a new branch of law enforcement dedicated to the policing of Labors. When Izumi Noa, a female police officer, becomes the newest recruit, she is swept into a series of adventures.
