Gurren Lagann Staffers Stream Kill la Kill Ad to Confirm Fall Debut

The official website for Hiroyuki Imaishi and Trigger's battle action anime Kill la Kill began streaming the second 30-second television commercial (after February's teaser) on Sunday at midnight. The ad confirms that the television anime will premiere in October.

The ad's taglines read:

Will You Kill?

Or Will You Be Killed?

As the commercial advertises, Trigger's first original television anime reunites Imaishi (Dead Leaves, Gurren Lagann, Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt) with head writer Nakashima (Gurren Lagann, Nodame Cantabile: Finale, Re: Cutie Honey). In addition, acclaimed animator Sushio (animation director on Gurren Lagann and Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, character designer on Engage Planet Kiss Dum) is designing the characters.

The story is set on a high school that the student council president Satsuki Kiryūin rules by force. Ryūko Matoi, a transfer student wielding a giant Basami scissors sword, brings about upheaval on the campus.
