Capcom Explains Why Ace Attorney 5 is Download-Only in West

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Capcom U.S.A. Senior Vice-President Christian Svensson explained his company's decision to release Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies (Gyakuten Saiban 5) as a digital-only title in the CAPCOM forums on Monday. According to Svensson, lack of retail support in the past led to the decision.

Historically it's been tough to attract long term retail support for Ace Attorney titles. With the release of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies we wanted as many people as possible to be able to enjoy the game for as long as possible. With that in mind we have opted for a digital only release via the Nintendo 3DS eShop.

The game will ship on July 25 in Japan with a limited-edition version that includes a Phoenix Wright figure. It will then arrive in the West this fall.
