posted on by Egan Loo
The live-action film adaptation of Mayu Shinjo's Ai Ore! Love Me! (Ai o Utau yori Ore ni Oborero!) manga will open in Japan on August 25.
DGNA Korean pop group member Karam stars as Akira Shiraishi, the male “princess” of an all-boys school, in the shōjo romance. Actress Ito Ōno (High School Debut) plays Mizuki Sakurazaka, the female “prince” of her all-girls school and the lead guitarist in an all-girl rock band. In the manga's story, Akira wants to join Mizuki's band Blaue Rosen when the band's lead singer moves overseas, but first he has to overcome Mizuki's suspicious misgivings.
Viz Media published the third volume of Ai Ore in North America last November. Viz also publishes the Ai-Ore! Danshikō no Hime to Joshikō no Ōji sequel and Shinjo's Sensual Phrase manga.
