Touch's Mitsuru Adachi Creates New Project in Magazine
posted on by Egan Loo
2012's first issue of Shogakukan's Big Comic Superior magazine is announcing on Friday that manga creator Mitsuru Adachi is creating a new project for the next issue on December 22. Big Comic Superior does not specify if this Yuku Toshi Kuru Toshi project will be an ongoing manga series or not.
Adachi is best known for such coming-of-age sports manga as Touch and Cross Game. He launched a new baseball manga series called Asaoka Kōkō Yakyū-Bu Nisshi - Over Fence (Asaoka High School Baseball Team Journal - Over Fence) in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in April, although new installments have not appeared in the magazine recently. Adachi also drew Cross Game from 2005 to 2010 in Weekly Shonen Sunday, and he has been serializing Idol Ace (Weekly Shonen Sunday) and Q and A (Monthly Shonen Sunday/Gessan) on an irregular basis.
Viz Media began releasing the Cross Game manga in North America last year, and the sixth volume will ship next month. Viz previously published Adachi's Short Program compilation of short stories. The Cross Game manga inspired a television anime series that ran from 2009 to 2010, and Viz streamed the anime.
