2nd Macross Frontier Film Sells 142,607 Blu-ray Discs
posted on by Egan Loo
Bandai Namco Games' Gekijō-ban Macross Frontier: Sayonara no Tsubasa Hybrid Pack sold 142,607 copies to rank #1 on Media Create's consumer software chart for the October 17-23 week. Because Bandai Namco Games sold the film/game hybrid disc through game retail channels instead of the traditional Blu-ray Disc retail channel, it will not appear in Oricon's Blu-ray Disc rankings charts. (The pack included game software for the PlayStation 3 console.) The DVD version of the second Macross Frontier film sold 28,373 copies.
Bandai Namco's Naruto Shippūden: Ultimate Ninja Impact game for the PSP also debuted at #2 with 53,148 games sold. Bandai Namco's Go Vacation (Wii) Nintendo's Just Dance Wii, and Spike's Dead Island (PlayStation 3) rounded out the top 5 with 47,209, 45,580, and 39,945 copies sold, respectively.
