NEW PEOPLE Entertainment, a North American distributor of Japanese live-action films, confirmed on Monday that it licensed a film of Japan's leading pop idol group titled Documentary of AKB48 -- To Be Continued. New People already revealed that the film will be making its American premiere on August 28 at San Francisco's J-Pop Summit. The film provides a behind-the-scenes glimpse of what life is like for the female performers. The biographical film incorporates footage of rehearsals and performances, elections of members, and fan activities both within Japan and abroad.
A trailer for the documentary is available on NEW PEOPLE Entertainment's website. Tickets may be purchased online at NEW PEOPLE, Inc.'s website.
NEW PEOPLE Entertainment previously licensed such titles as the live-action Death Note trilogy, both Gantz films, Honey and Clover, and Detroit Metal City.
