Japanese Box Office, December 11-12

The live-action film adaptation of the Space Battleship Yamato anime franchise dropped to #2 in its second week on Kogyo Tsushinsha's box office chart, while Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I returned to the top spot. However, Yamato stayed at #1 on Box Office Mojo's chart, and it added the equivalent of US$4,693,005 on 440 screens to its total of US$20,880,469.
Bleach: Jigoku-hen, the fourth film based on Tite Kubo's Bleach supernatural manga, dropped from #3 to #6 in its second week. It brought in US$980,231 on 233 screens for a gross-to-date of US$4,037,213.
Heartcatch Precure! Hana no Miyako de Fashion Show…Desu ka!?, the ninth film from the Pretty Cure/Precure magical girl franchise, dipped from #9 to #10 in its seventh weekend on Kogyo Tsushinsha's chart. On Box Office Mojo's chart, it was #11, and it added US$187,875 on 151 screens to its total-to-date of US$10,494,473.
Umizaru: The Last Message, the third live-action film based on Shuho Sato's manga about the Japanese Coast Guard, dropped from #12 to #14. It earned US$62,912 on 153 screens in its 13th weekend. It now has a total of US$94,786,753.
The 3D film version of Eiko Kera's ATASHIn'CHI comedy manga is no longer listed on either chart.
