Square Enix Opens N. American, French E-Manga Stores

The media company Square Enix officially launched its online North American manga store with English-language digital manga volumes on Friday. Currently, the first volumes of Fullmetal Alchemist and Soul Eater are available on the site, as well as the first two volumes each of The Record of a Fallen Vampire and Yumekui Kenbun: Nightmare Inspector. Each volume is on sale for US$5.99, a limited-time launch sale price. Square Enix has not announced what the regular price will be.
The site also includes a "community" feature allowing users to keep a journal related to each series. Registration for the site is free.
Square Enix announced its plans to launch the site this past July. The French version has also launched and features Fullmetal Alchemist, Soul Eater, Satan 666 (called O-Parts Hunter in English), and Record of a Fallen Vampire. Each French volume costs 4 Euros (about US$5.27).
