posted on by Egan Loo
GeGeGe no Nyōbō (Spooky Wife), the live-action television drama adaptation of an autobiographical essay book by Kītarō author Shigeru Mizuki's wife Nunoe Mura, premiered on March 29 at 8:00 a.m. Although the April 3 episode was the second highest rated drama showing of the week with a 15.8 rating, the March 29 premiere earned the lowest rating in NHK's daily morning drama timeslot since records were first kept in 1964. It received a 14.8 rating in Tokyo's Kanto area and a 10.1 rating in the Kansai area to the south. However, NHK had moved its "television novel serial" timeslot for the first time in 48 years on March 29, and GeGeGe no Nyōbō has since recovered in ratings.
Fumihiko Sori's award-winning live-action film adaptation of Taiyo Matsumoto's Ping Pong manga re-ran on April 3 at 2:23 a.m. and earned a 1.5 rating.
