Astro Boy Ad Posted, Early Screenings Slated for NYC (Updated)

The film distributor Summit Entertainment has posted one of the television commercials for David Bowers and IMAGI's computer-animated film adaptation of Osamu Tezuka's Astro Boy (Mighty Atom) manga and anime earlier this week. Also posted on the same Movie Jungle website as the commercial is a three-minute clip from the film.
The New York International Children's Film Festival is hosting two special pre-release screenings of the film at the IFC Center at 11:00 a.m. on October 17 and 18. The film opens in Japan next Saturday, and will open throughout North America on October 23.
According to Bowers, Jazwares' Astro Boy movie toys are already lining store shelves in America. Movietickets.com is hosting an online Exclusive Guide to Astro Boy.
