Jojo's Araki Illustrates Base Ball Bear's 'Breeeeze Girl' (Updated)
posted on by Egan Loo
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga creator Hirohiko Araki illustrated the limited edition for "Breeeeze Girl," the June 24 CD single from the Base Ball Bear rock band. The cover features Yukako Yamagishi, a character from the "Diamond wa Kudakenai" chapter of JoJo's. Yūichi Kodama, the director of the song's music video, showed part of Araki's manga with the Yukako character to Base Ball Bear because one of the song's lyrics reminded him of the character. As a result, the band asked Araki to create a new illustration of Yukako for the song's single.
Base Ball Bear performed theme songs for the Big Windup!, Gintama, and Library War television anime series. Viz Media published the 13th volume of JoJo's in North America last month.

Update: Viz released the 11th volume of its manga release last month instead of the 13th volume, due to delays caused by controversy over images in the video anime version. Thanks, Gatsu and Buster Blader 126.
