Game-based original anime to air in Japan on April 12 before game's release
The official Japanese website for the Pokémon franchise has announced on Friday that an original anime based on the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Sky dungeon role-playing game has been green-lit for airing in Japan on April 12. The Toki to Yami o Meguru Saigo no Bōken (The Final Adventure through Time and Darkness) anime will air within the Pokémon Sunday variety program and will recreate scenes from the game in great detail. The game itself will ship for the Nintendo DS game console on April 18.
In the story, the Pokédans team's adventure begins one day when a boy, who has transformed from a human into a Pocchama (Piplup) creature in the world where Pokémon live, meets a Hikozaru (Chimchar) creature. The team joins a Juptile (Grovyle) and go to the "Lost Continent" to save the world with the "Time Gears."
