posted on by Mikhail Koulikov
In their first official week of release, all four new volumes of Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto manga ranked on the USA Today newspaper's list of the top 150 bestselling books for the week of March 2 to March 8. Volume 40 had already been on the list at #126 due to early sales, but it jumped more than 80 spots to #42. It is followed by volumes 38 (from #120 the previous week to #50) and 39 (up at #51, from #131). The last of the four new Naruto books that Viz Media officially published on March 3, volume 41, ranked at #63 after not making the list the previous week.
For comparison, when the previous four books were released last month, their first official week's rankings were #52 (volume 37), #53 (volume 36), #55 (volume 35), and #57 (volume 34).
In addition to the four Naruto volumes, another new book from Viz Media made the newest list as volume 26 of Tite Kubo's Bleach manga took the #141 spot. This is the first week that a manga other than Naruto has ranked since the week of November 17 to November 23, when Natsuki Takaya's Fruits Basket volume 21 (Tokyopop) placed at #119.
