USA Today Booklist, March 9-15: 4 Naruto Books Rank (Updated)
posted on by Mikhail Koulikov
From March 9 to March 15, four Naruto manga volumes held spots on the USA Today newspaper's list of the top 150 bestselling books sold in American chain and independent book shops, online book stores, and the book sections of department stores. These four books from Masashi Kishimoto were the latest in Viz Media's Generation Ninja campaign to bring out 11 volumes in three months.
The latest English volume in the series, volume 41, climbed slightly from the previous week's #63 position to #55. Sales of the other three books, however, began to slow down. Volume 40 peaked the previous week in the #42 position, before dropping nine spots to #51. Volume 39's decrease was steeper from #51 to #74. Finally, volume 38 went down over 30 spots in the rankings to #84 from the previous week's 50. Volume 26 of Tite Kubo's Bleach manga, a rare non-Naruto manga bestseller a week ago at #141, dropped off the chart.
Update: Matsuri Hino's Vampire Knight volume 6 also ranked at #126, after debuting just off the chart at #306 the previous week. Thanks, Joysjuhhh.
