Winter Sonata's Bae Yong-Joon to Voice Anime Version

The agency of Bae Yong-Joon, the Korean lead actor in the international hit drama series Winter Sonata (Fuyu no Sonata), has announced on Wednesday that he will reprise his Winter Sonata role in the upcoming anime version. Bae played Kang Joon-Sang, a high school boy whose life is inextricably tied to that of his classmate, the heroine Jung Yu-Jin (Choi Ji-Woo). It was also revealed on Wednesday that the joint Japanese-Korean anime version is slated not only for television broadcast, but also a theatrical release.
The anime version was first revealed in December, when Bae agreed to allow his likeness to appear in the proposed anime which his Key East company would help finance and produce. A March 28 event at the Tokyo International Anime Fair 2008 will provide more details.
