5cm per Second, Place Promised on BD, HD DVD in Japan

5 Centimeters Per Second and The Place Promised in Our Early Days, the two newest award-winning films from auteur director Makoto Shinkai, will simultaneously arrive on Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD in Japan on April 18. Japanese Blu-ray Discs are playable on North American Blu-ray Disc players and vice versa. HD DVDs are region-free by default.
