Auction to benefit Yuubari City in Hokkaido
On March 1st, Shougakukan manga magazine "Weekly Young Sunday" and Yahoo! Japan announced a charity auction to benefit the city of Yuubari in Hokkaido. Yuubari has been suffering from considerable financial trouble in recent years, and was recently designated as a site for fiscal reconstruction by the Japanese government.
About 40 manga artists and creators from the magazine are involved with the auction, which includes original illustrations and signed prints. Pictures of the items, along with pictures of the manga artists signing their work, can be seen on the auction site. In addition, some artists are offering to do character drawings by request for successful bidders.
