Aperture Press to publish collection of cosplay photographs

Over the last two years, Elena Dorfman has been taking photographs of anime, manga and videogame cosplayers. Her photos have now been collected in a book, entitled Fandomania: Characters and Cosplay, that Aperture Press will publish in June 2007.
In addition to 75 photographs, the book will include an essay on cosplay by art critic Carlo McCormick. The book will retail for $35, but will be available directly from Aperture for $28.
Coinciding with the launch of the book, from April 12 to May 19, many of Dorfman's photographs will be exhibited at the Edwynn Houk Gallery in New York City.
