Linkin Park Anime Style Video and Manga
posted on by Christopher Macdonald
The next Linkin Park music video to be released, for the song "Breaking the Habit" from Meteora album, will be composed entirely of anime-style animation. What's more, TOKYOPOP informs us that the DVD release of the video will include a "mini-music-manga" that they have produced for Linkin Park.
According to Linkin Park guitarist Brad Delson, the director of the video (DJ Joseph Hahn) "worked hand-in-hand with the animators who worked on 'Kill Bill.'" Production I.G is the company that did the animation for Kill Bill, unfortunately we have not yet been able to confirm that they are the company that animated the music video.
The video will include concert scenes, as well as video based on the song's story. Delson said that it was much cheaper and safer to animate these sequences rather then to film them live. The concert scenes were video-taped live in Los Angeles and then reproduced by the animators.
The mini-music-manga will be a 49 page, full color, non-fiction production that will include images from the video as well as original art. It will cover behind the scenes, tour info and other topics. TOKYOPOP informed us that other information should be forthcoming shortly.
