Kōichi Mashimo (Noir, .hack//SIGN) as Guest of Honor, 35mm Screening of Legend of the Galactic Heroes.
Anime Expo has announced that Kōichi Mashimo will join Nobuhiro Watsuki (Rurouni Kenshin) as a guest of honor at Anime Expo 2002. Mashimo has been the director of Irresponsible Captain Tylor, Bakuretsu Hunter, Dirty Pair, Dominion, Weathering Continent, and several Gatchaman and more recently Noir and .hack//SIGN.
Anime Expo 2002 will include a 35 mm showing of Legend of the Galactic Heroes: My Conquest is the Sea of Stars courtesy of Tokuma Shoten. The 1988 movie, which has never been released in North America, will be in Japanese with English subtitles.
Anime Expo will also be shoing 35mm prints of Escaflowne and Jin-Roh.
