Vampire Hunter D on Cinemax
posted on by Christopher Macdonald
Urban Vision representative Rhona Medina has confirmed to ANN that Cinemax does not have the rights to air Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, and that they are airing the original Vampire Hunter D OAV from 1985.
In fact TV rights to Bloodlust have not yet been sold to any TV stations or networks as it is still in theatres.
Starz Encore subscribers might however be lucky enough to catch a 30 minute interview with the producers of Bloodlust. Yoshiaki Kawajiri (director), Yutaka Minowa (Dharacter design & Animation Director), Mataichiro Yamamoto (producer) and Masao Muruyama (producer, owner of Madhouse) discuss the making of Bloodlust in the interview which airs periodically between movies. Unfortunately the Starz schedule makes no mention of when.
