Anime Village takes preorders for Titanic LDs

Bandai's Anime Village web site yesterday announced that it was taking pre-orders for the October 13 Laserdisc release of James Cameron's megablockbuster "Titanic."
Priced at full retail (as opposed to Ken Cranes' and LVD Online pricing at 20% off) and with shipping charges more than those two companies combined, the discs will be shipped to pre-order customers as close to the release date as possible. However, Anime Village has yet to even ship any product at all (even their own, the first batch of which was scheduled to ship on 9/1), and some doubt their judgement to sell something totally unrelated to anime, and downright scorned by many fans. Others see it as a sign that Anime Village is taking optical formats' potential seriously.
