Yuri!!! on Ice Offers Cellular Support, New Goods at Comiket

Japanese mobile provider Au by KDDI is collaborating with the Yuri!!! on Ice television anime at the Comiket 91 convention this month. The partnership is providing a signal-boosting base station truck to support wireless services for Comiket visitors.
An art piece that looks like a giant cell phone will stand next to the truck. The LCD screen will show social-networking-style images that also appear in the anime.
Au will offer a total of six signal-boosting trucks at Comiket 91. As usual, the company will also put employees wearing special backpacks on the convention floor to act as human Wi-Fi spots.
Japan's mobile carriers provide signal-boosting trucks and Wi-Fi hotspots at every Comiket event to help cope with the demand from their hundreds of thousands of visitors. Au rolled out Yowamushi Pedal- and Durarara!!-inspired trucks in 2014. SoftBank offered Kuroko's Basketball signal-boosting trucks, and NTT Docomo offered Kan Colle-wrapped trucks that same year.
The official Yuri!!! on Ice anime website also announced on Thursday that Avex Pictures' Comiket 91 booth will offer a variety of new merchandise inspired by the skating show. The goods will include:

Comiket 91 will be held at Chiba's Makuhari Messe convention center from December 29 to 31. Animedia Shop's booth is also offering Yuri!!! on Ice goods, including rubber stamps, a neck pillow, and towels.
