Daisuke Namikawa, Yoshimasa Hosoya, Nobuhiko Okamoto Join Ace of Diamond Anime's Cast

This year's 40th issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine is announcing on new cast additions to the anime adaptation of Yūji Terajima's Ace of Diamond baseball manga on Wednesday:
- Yoshimasa Hosoya as Tetsuya Yūki
- Shintarō Asanuma as Yōichi Kuramochi
- Yūki Ono as Shun Isashiki
- Daisuke Namikawa as Chris Takigawa
- Masakazu Morita as Kōchirō Tanba
- Nobuhiko Okamoto as Ryōsuke Kominato
- Wataru Hatano as Tōru Masuko
The new cast will join Ryota Ohsaka as eijun Sawamura, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Satoru Furuya, Natsuki Hanae as Haruichi Kominato, and Takahiro Sakurai as Kazuya Miyuki.
In addition, the magazine will announce that Tom-H@ck (K-ON! opening theme composer) and Masayoshi Ōnishi will perform the anime's opening theme song, “Go EXCEED!!”
The story of the original manga follows eijun Sawamura, a pitcher who joins an elite school with a brilliant catcher named Kazuya Miyuki. Together with the rest of the team, they strive for Japan's storied Kōshien championships through hard work and determination.
Terajima launched the manga in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 2006, and Kodansha is publishing the 37th volume this month. The manga won the shōnen category of the 34th Kodansha Manga Awards in 2010.
The anime will premiere on Japanese television on October 6 at 8:30 a.m. JST.
