Toaru Majutsu no Index's Kamachi Writes New Story for Film
posted on by Ko Ransom
When a user asked on Twitter on Sunday if the recently announced Toaru Majutsu no Index film's story would be taken from volume 15 of the light novel series, ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Bunko light novel editor Kazuma Miki replied that author Kazuma Kamachi will be writing an entirely new story for it. The film was announced last October, but no release date has officially been set.
The fourth volume of Shinyaku Toaru Majutsu no Index, Kazuma Kamachi's sequel to the original Toaru Majutsu no Index light novel series, will ship on March 10. When discussing the anime adaptations of Dengeki Bunko works, Miki had revealed in January that "Index will have more happening this year. Please look forward to it. We still cannot say anything about Railgun [Toaru Kagaku no Railgun/A Certain Scientific Railgun]."
The first Toaru Majutsu no Index light novel series inspired two television anime series, as well as A Certain Scientific Railgun manga that inspired its own anime franchise. Funimation licensed the first Index series and the Railgun anime, while Seven Seas Entertainment is publishing the Railgun manga.
