Sega Makes Samurai & Dragons Action Game for PS Vita (Updated)
posted on by Egan Loo
This week's issue of Enterbrain's Weekly Famitsu magazine is announcing that the game developer Sega is planning a Samurai & Dragons action game for the PS Vita platform with chief producer Masayoshi Kikuchi (Yakuza games). The game features an action part in which four players can seek out and fight monsters prowling in a dungeon. Clearing the final floor and defeating the boss monster will earn equipment items and magical beast cards that can be used in the card battle part.
Back in town (which serves as each player's base of operations), the players can engage in card battles to expand their territories. They can also form alliances with each other.
The title of the game came from the staff's desire to combine Japanese-style dungeons and Western-style fantasy during development. According to Kikuchi, the concept was a game with goblins, dragons, ninja, and samurai.
A playable version of the game will be at Shueisha's Jump Festa 2012 event in Chiba during the December 17-18 weekend.
