Sonic CD Game Port's Trailers Streamed
posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Sega of America and the Gamespot website began streaming a 44-second and a 63-second trailer for the new port of the Sonic CD game on Wednesday.
The trailers state that the port of the 1993 Sega CD game will be for XBox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, and mobile devices. The Sonic CD videos also report that the game is slated for release "this holiday" or "late 2011". In August, Sega revealed that this re-mastered edition will include the original Japanese soundtrack as well as achievement and trophy support. Improvements to the game will include the addition of widescreen graphics and the option to utilize spin-dash physics from the 1992 Sonic 2 game.
Sega describes the game's story as follows:
Following the classic story of the original, Sonic CD sees Dr Eggman plan to cause chaos and take control of the future by stealing Time Stones from the Little Planet. Sonic must speed through levels and travel through time while fending off Eggman's robots to recover the Time Stones, and save Amy Rose from his mechanical twin, Metal Sonic!
The re-release of Sonic CD premiered at PAX Prime in Seattle from August 26 to 28.
