posted on by Gia Manry
Doll manufacturer AZONE International Co. Ltd. announced that it will be creating a ball-jointed doll of the Kuroshitsuji II anime's protagonist, Ciel Phantomhive, as the first release of its new Asterisk Collection series this December. The doll is available for preorder as of October 27, and it will ship at the end of December with a suggested retail price of 12,000 yen (about US$150). The doll will come with the Phantomhive family ring, Ciel's walking stick, three kinds of plain hands, and four kinds of black-gloved hands.
The company has in the past released a wide variety of female anime characters in ball-jointed doll form, including characters from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, K-ON!, Fate/stay night, Aria, and Victorian Romance Emma. Azone has released male figures in its martial arts line, as well as a figure of s-CRY-ed's Ryuhou; however, the company's products have primarily been female dolls.
This past February, the Alter anime figure manufacturer announced that it was launching a line of male anime and game character figures and has since released Natsume's Book of Friends' Natsume and Tales of Vesperia's Yuri Lowell and Flynn Scifo. In early October the company also announced figures of Summer Wars' Ikezawa Kazuma and King Kazuma.
