Daily Video: Gundam's Core Fighter Modeled in 1/1-Scale
posted on by Egan Loo
A popular "Gundam videographer" who goes by the name darwinfish105 posted video footage of the 1/1-scale, "life-size" model of the FF-X7 Core Fighter from the first Mobile Suit Gundam television anime series last week. The nine-meter-long (about 30-foot-long) model is part of the Hobby Museum at the Shizuoka Hobby Fair, which runs until March 27.
The model depicts the fighter as it was seen in the final episode of the first Gundam series. Shizuoka City is also hosting the 18-meter-tall (59-foot-tall) "life-size" statue of the RX-78-2 Gundam itself, and darwinfish105 posted a time-lapse video of that statue. Not coincidentally, the model company Bandai is developing a 1/35 Core Fighter kit as part of its "U.C. Hard Graph" lineup. Bandai displayed a mockup of the model at last week's 50th All-Japan Model Hobby Show.
