posted on by Gia Manry
Digital Manga Publishing's tour company Pop Japan Travel has announced a new tour which covers 700 miles of Japan, visiting stops relating to works by Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli. The tour is called "Totoro's Pathway" and includes stops in both rural and urban areas of Japan that have been featured in Studio Ghibli films.
The trip will visit the Dakigaeri Gorge (which inspired backgrounds in both 1988's My Neighbor Totoro and 1997's Princess Mononoke), the town of Tomonoura (which was incorporated into 2008's Ponyo), and the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka. The tour also includes stops at Nakano Broadway's anime and manga stores, the Tokyo Tower, Tokyo's Akihabara shopping district, and the Hiroshima Peace Memorial.
The tour will take place October 5 through 14, and the deadline to sign up is September 7.
