I'm super excited for July to come! There's several shows I'm anticipating coming out including this one.

Those character designs are gorgeous. Love Utsu-tsu, Berg Katze and the last unknown characters especially.

Doesn't have a positive image of herself...
wears a tiny bikini.
I will probably be watching this.

If there's peculiar, this series has it so far. I like the designs though.

More like Gatchamanogatari. Trying to figure out what any of this has to do with Gatchaman. It'll be hard to get into without bird suits.

This does seem to be subscribing to the Persona school of character design...

Interesting that Berg Katze is the only name (at least so far) that's carrying over from the original.

Love the character designs. It's going to be really expensive to animate at this level of detail though

I don't know how I feel about this new iteration. It feels like too much of a departure from the original series, like it's just "Gatchaman-In-Name-Only". On the other hand, you can also see it as flipped version of the show, with "science not being enough". Character designs look nice, though (no surprise with the director).

I'm glad to see I'm not alone in that reaction.
Even if that isn't her usual outfit, it isn't something you would expect someone with a poor self image to wear unless forced to.

Anime is well-known for that dichotomy:
provocative wardrobe yet conservative behavior.
That doesn't happen in real life - it's either one or the other.
If you wear provocative clothing, you're usually outgoing.
But if you're a conservative person, you dress conventional.
Pretty much only in anime you'd see that sort of oxymoron wish-fulfillment.

Katse seems like the only thing, period, carrying over from the original.

At first I was excited to hear about a new Gatchaman anime. Then, I got a little worried when I saw the teaser image for the Summer anime chart. Now.. I don't even know what to think. I think I'll watch it for masochism? Disappointing turn of events that it looks like they've turned it into a fanservice show.
On one hand, I haven't watched it to properly judge it, but on the other hand I hope Tatsunoko doesn't do this to the rest of their shows. Because, you know, they reboot a franchise every year or so.

I like how Tatsunoko is going for a more mature and wide audience. Not just pandering to the same people that everyone else is.

Well being a fan of the original (and 94 remake) of Gatchaman, i have to say this show isn't for me. So ill be happy for the fans who will enjoy it.
i am more interested in the live action movie and the upcoming BD release from Sentai of the original for the franchise.
