In case people are wondering:
Yahoo! JAPAN Corporation is a Japanese internet company formed as a joint venture between the American internet company Yahoo! and the Japanese internet company SoftBank. Yahoo! holds a 34.75% minority stake in Yahoo! Japan, while SoftBank holds 35.45%. Yahoo!-J is much bigger than eBay in Japan. |

Does this mean they won't be selling doujinshi anymore?
Goddammit! Yahoo Auctions JP was probably the only place I knew to find obscure stuff at cheap prices >___< |

For doujinshi, yes, but if you want eroge, it's not like there aren't plenty of other options. |

All of this was possible thanks to former Republican US President George W Bush for signing the PROTECT Act of 2003 into law without even thinking twice about the law-abiding Otakus like Christopher Handley who will later be paying the price for being a fan of Lolicon. And now Japan is following in Bush's footsteps. HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!! |

True, but no president Democrat or Republican is different. For example, Clinton signed a bill that was actually worse: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Child_Pornography_Prevention_Act_of_1996. This outright banned all virtual depictions. It was later overturned, then the PROTECT Act replaced it which required proving such virtual depictions are obscene first. Finally, obscenity and PROTECT act prosecutions have also continued under Obama, with his own picked DOJ officials (Holder, et al) mind you. Anyways, hopefully someone else will take Yahoo Japan's place for erotic auctions/private reselling. |

I've read on Wikipedia that the PROTECT Act of 2003 was also created as a response to the kidnapping of Elizabeth Smart by a crazy Morman. Sometimes I ask myself, "What does the kidnapping of Elizabeth Smart have anything to do with cartoons and/or drawings?" |

I don't see why not. None of the doujin I bought via Yahoo Auctions are in any way pornographic. I hadn't even considered you could buy used underwear on there.... |
