Megatonnes are dropping everywhere. From Sailor Moon, to Saint Seiya, to Jojo to Dragon Ball.

Japan seems to be on a nostalgia kick. Hope it works better for them (and well, me as well) than some of the stuff the US's nostalgia kick has produced.

They mean anime film, right? Not live-action.

When I first saw the title, I immediately though... "No, not another Dragonball Evolution! Lol."
Seriously why said manga? The headline could just have said "Dragonball Gets New Film Adaptation"
Anyway it would be better if they remake DB/DBZ without fillers like DB Kai.

You know, other than going for the absolutely logical and obvious "let's bring old properties back to make more money in these times of economic depression" angle and so on, I don't think this is going to be the same as those examples.
For one thing, Dragon Ball Kai isn't that old so the property hasn't been out of the spotlight for too long in recent years. On the other hand, even though I'm not watching Saint Seiya Omega that was at least a proper sequel involving the next generation of characters. JoJo evidently had plenty of material that was never animated and the Sailor Moon manga was fairly different from the anime to begin with, so there's still some content left to adapt in both cases.
But now, since all of Dragon Ball has already been adapted, it would seem that at first glance making another Dragon Ball movie is just going back to the days of all the disposable DBZ films we've already seen before. I'd be surprised if they did something different, of course, but I won't be particularly optimistic about the matter. We'll see what happens.

Really hope this is a Kai version of the Boo saga in movie form and not something new for the sake of doing something new. That is, unless it's something written by Toriyama himself since that seems to be the current trend-- getting manga writers to create new movie stories-- that I'd be OK with.

I've been dying for GSC to get at least a 12-13 episode series, if not more! One of the best manga ever, and I've watched the OVA at least 50 times!!
I wonder if the new DB movie will be original content or adapt/re-adapt a part of the manga?

Oh yeah. After that lame Bardock OVA and the fail of Kai, we needed some new DB animation.
I hope its not a remake though. I like new stuff. At the very least, they can adapt Dragon Ball Online, or something.

It'll be interesting to see Dragonball in today's computer animated world.

I hope it's movie side-story not retelling any part of the TV series or manga, but I wouldn't mind it being kinda Eva-esque. I always preferred that they adapt each story arc into it's own movie instead of rediting it as DBZ Kai.

I don't think I really want to see a Kare Kano remake, honestly? The GAINAX anime was absolutely 100% pitch-perfect for the first 13 episodes, and while everything that followed was nearly unwatchable, I don't think that anything could ever live up to those original first 13. And then I feel like the Kare Kano manga ended up going to some really ugly, badly thought-out and self-negating places after the point that the anime dropped off, and so I kind of feel like it was for the best that the series never reached those parts. I don't particularly want to see them animated today, either.
Still, that's just my take on it, and if a remake ever does happen I'll be happy for you and the other people who want it! :>

I'm probably in the minority for saying this but......LET DRAGON BALL STAY THE F*CK DEAD! FOR GOD SHAKES IT DOESN'T NEED SOMETHING NEW EVERY YEAR! LET IT STAY DEAD! .....not that i got that out of my system supposedly the movies scenario will be written by toriyama and it will star goten and trunks.
